Do you just resell ElevenLabs?
Our premium engine uses ElevenLabs, and we say so plainly on the pricing page. What you are paying for on top is the workflow around it: document extraction and cleanup, shared workspaces, saved history, read-along highlighting, pronunciation dictionaries, LMS embedding, and the contractual paperwork a university needs. If you would rather integrate directly and build that yourself, go straight to ElevenLabs — for a developer, that is often the right call.
Is the voice quality identical?
For premium conversions, yes — it is the same engine and the same voices. The standard engine uses a different provider and is noticeably plainer, which is why it is the cheaper tier.
Can I clone a voice?
No. We deliberately do not offer voice cloning. In an education context the consent and misuse questions around cloning a real person's voice are not ones we want to be answering, and no customer has needed it for accessible course material.
Which is cheaper?
For low or spiky volume, going direct to ElevenLabs is usually cheaper — you are not paying for a workflow you do not use. For a department with steady volume and several staff, a flat plan is normally both cheaper and far easier to budget.
