NaturalTTS Terms of Service

Welcome to NaturalTTS. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the NaturalTTS website, dashboard, applications, APIs, and text-to-speech services available at https://naturaltts.org/(together, the "Services").

By accessing or using NaturalTTS, creating an account, starting a trial, requesting an EDU Pilot, or purchasing a paid subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

1. Company Information

NaturalTTS is a software platform that enables users to convert text and supported documents into synthetic speech audio for lawful educational, accessibility, research, and professional use.

2. Eligibility and Authority

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use the Services.

If you use NaturalTTS on behalf of a school, university, company, or other organization, you represent and warrant that:

  • you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms; and
  • that organization will be considered the account holder and will be responsible for all activity, payments, and obligations under the account.

3. Accounts

To use certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • provide accurate and complete information
  • keep your login credentials secure
  • promptly update your information if it changes
  • accept responsibility for all activity under your account

You must notify us immediately at contact@naturaltts.org if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Where an organization is the account holder, the organization is responsible for managing its end users' access and ensuring those end users comply with these Terms.

4. Plans, Trials, and EDU Pilot Access

NaturalTTS may offer:

  • Free Trial plans
  • EDU Pilot access
  • Recurring paid subscriptions
  • Custom institution plans

Features, limits, usage quotas, seat counts, and durations are described on our website, pricing pages, and inside the product dashboard.

Free Trial and EDU Pilot access may expire automatically unless upgraded or otherwise extended by NaturalTTS.

5. Subscription Billing

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis unless otherwise stated at checkout.

Pricing, billing intervals, renewal details, and applicable taxes are displayed at checkout.

Payments are processed by FastSpring, which acts as Merchant of Record for purchases made through FastSpring checkout. This means FastSpring may handle payment processing, tax collection, receipts, subscription management, and certain refund-related workflows on our behalf.

6. Renewals and Cancellation

Unless otherwise stated, paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Unless required otherwise by law or expressly stated during checkout, cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access until the end of that period and will not be charged for the following renewal term once cancellation becomes effective.

If your subscription is processed through FastSpring, you may also be able to manage cancellation through FastSpring's buyer tools.

7. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policyand may also be subject to applicable law and FastSpring's buyer-facing support processes where FastSpring handles the transaction.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use NaturalTTS:

  • for unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading purposes
  • to violate intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights
  • to upload or process content you do not have the right to use
  • to interfere with, disrupt, or abuse the platform
  • to exceed plan limitations through unauthorized automation or misuse
  • to impersonate a real person without proper rights and permissions
  • to create deceptive voice content presented as the authentic speech of a real identifiable person
  • to generate content that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that incites violence
  • to attempt to reverse engineer, extract, or replicate the underlying voice models or technology

NaturalTTS may not be used to impersonate real individuals or create misleading voice content presented as genuine human speech.

We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating accounts.

9. User Content

You retain ownership of the text, files, and materials you upload to NaturalTTS ("User Content").

By using the Services, you grant NaturalTTS a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, and use your User Content solely as necessary to:

  • provide the Services to you (including generating audio output)
  • store your history and library inside your account
  • maintain service reliability, security, and fraud prevention
  • provide customer support where you request it

We do not use your User Content, generated audio, or voice data to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or voice models.

You represent and warrant that:

  • you own or control the necessary rights to your User Content
  • your User Content and its use through NaturalTTS do not violate any law or third-party rights

10. Generated Audio

Subject to these Terms and any restrictions disclosed in the product, you may use generated audio for lawful internal, educational, accessibility, research, or commercial purposes in accordance with your plan.

You are solely responsible for how generated audio is used, published, distributed, disclosed, or relied on.

11. Data Protection and Privacy

Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Where NaturalTTS processes personal data on behalf of an organizational customer (for example, an educational institution or business), we act as a data processor. Institutional and enterprise customers that require a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) reflecting GDPR Article 28, UK GDPR, or similar requirements may request one by contacting contact@naturaltts.org.

12. Educational and Institutional Use

If you use NaturalTTS as part of a school, university, or other institution, you are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with your internal policies, procurement rules, privacy obligations, accessibility requirements, and applicable law.

Institutions are responsible for obtaining any consents required from students, staff, or other end users under applicable data protection and education law.

13. Availability and Service Changes

We aim to keep the Services available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services from time to time.

We may also change features, limits, pricing, or plan structure. Material changes affecting paid subscriptions will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the subscription terms in effect at the time.

Enterprise or institutional customers may request a separate Service Level Agreement (SLA) as part of a custom plan.

14. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • you violate these Terms
  • your use creates legal, security, abuse, or fraud risk
  • payment is overdue or fails and is not resolved
  • continued access would expose us or others to harm or liability

Upon termination, we may disable access to your account and related content, subject to applicable law and retention obligations.

You may terminate your use of the Services at any time by cancelling your subscription and ceasing use of the Services.

15. Disclaimer

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, perfect speech output, or suitability for every purpose. We make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NaturalTTS will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, business, data, goodwill, or opportunities.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of NaturalTTS for any claim arising out of or related to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid to NaturalTTS during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law (for example, liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold NaturalTTS harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • your User Content
  • your use of generated audio
  • your violation of these Terms
  • your violation of any law or third-party right

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, excluding conflict-of-laws principles, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.

The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, except that we may bring proceedings in any jurisdiction where you reside or do business to enforce our rights.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your home courts, these provisions do not override those rights.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on https://naturaltts.org/with a revised "Last updated" date.

For material changes affecting paid subscriptions, we will provide reasonable advance notice by email or in-product notification where required by law.

Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms.

20. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, form the entire agreement between you and NaturalTTS regarding the Services.
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
  • No waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
